About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced SHEC Officer to join our team at PRO Personnel Employment Agency in the North West region. As an SHEC Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the mines’ SHEC management plan, conducting risk assessments and safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with the Mine Health & Safety Act and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the mines SHEC management plan
- Conduct risk assessment, safety inspections and incident investigations
- Ensure compliance with the Mine Health & Safety Act and environmental regulations
- Maintain SHEC registers, safety statistics and incident logs
- Facilitate toolbox talks and safety inductions for employees and contractors
- Liaise with the department of mineral resources and energy (DMRE) and local community
- Promote environmental best practices and community engagements initiatives
Requirements
- 3-5 years SHE experiences, preferably in a mining or industrial environment
- Knowledge of MHSA and environmental legislation
- SAMTRAC or equivalent safety training preferred.
- National or certificate in safety Management / Environmental Science or similar
