About the Role

Our client, a leader in the FMCG Wholesale sector and based in Cape Town, is looking to employ an experienced and dynamic FMCG Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing plans that enhance the Company’s brand image and strengthen market position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and measure the success of a comprehensive marketing plan that enhances the Company and its brands.
  • Drive and manage all marketing initiatives, including promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Ensure clear articulation and consistency of the desired image and positioning of each brand.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and execution of marketing, promotional plans, seasonal campaigns, communication strategies, and planning timelines.
  • Manage, review, and approve all Point of Sale materials, marketing collateral, and product solutions to ensure alignment with Company standards.
  • Plan and manage events, including supplier and Company functions.
  • Ensure achievement of marketing goals and financial objectives, with appropriate evaluation systems in place and regular reporting on progress.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the membership and supplier base.
  • Work closely with Marketing Directors and Brand or Product Managers to drive initiatives and effectively channel marketing spend into the market.
  • Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships to maximise business outcomes.
  • Select, manage, and maintain external agencies and alliances.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives, clear communication, and timely delivery of marketing outputs.
  • Monitor supplier marketing initiatives and capitalise on opportunities where possible.
  • Negotiate, list, and manage new marketing suppliers.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years relevant management experience is required. A marketing degree from a recognised university is preferable. Strong knowledge of the FMCG industry, with experience across marketing management, budget management, and people management, is essential. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and achieve results through others is also necessary.
