Job Description
The Pr. Registered Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the design and construction of various civil engineering projects. This individual will lead a team of engineers and designers to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on structural design, site development, and construction management.
Responsibilities:
- Civil Engineer: Design of civil infrastructure for Building services (Internal wet services & External Infrastructure) and Township services (Residential Roads, Bulk Earthworks, Sanitation, Water Reticulation & Stormwater).
- Preparation of reports for all stages of project implementation, including inception, feasibility/ business plans, concept & viability, design development, tender & procurement, close-out etc.
- Overall contract/project management, attendance of progress meetings, preparation of payment certificates, dealing with contractual claims etc.
- Management of multi-disciplinary teams, junior staff and supervision of drawings, designs, reports etc.
- Preparation of tender documentation, including specification writing, bill of quantities and drawings.
- Experience in compiling reports for business plans, grant-funding and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Experience in liaising with clients, contractors, other disciplines and various other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Minimum B.Sc / B Eng / Btech. Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Candidate must be Professionally registered with ECSA as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng
- Minimum Eight (8) years practical experience in the design of building services, township infrastructure, contract management, quality monitoring, report writing etc.
- Experience in managing GCC & JBCC Contracts and dealing with claims.
- Proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD .
- Experience in Revit, Modelmaker, Bill and iDAS software will be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English. Proficiency in isiZulu advantageous.
- Minimum Code B (08) drivers license
- Willing to relocate to Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
