About the Role

We are seeking a Quality Technician to join our client, a reputable automotive manufacturing company based in Port Elizabeth, who is passionate about delivering high-quality products and services. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet international standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, introduce, monitor and maintain measuring systems to provide a quality and proactive service as measured against national and international standards.
• Analyse, initiate, co-ordinate and implement corrective action to qualify discrepancies reported to the department to ensure a timeous and efficient service to customers within the parameters of acceptable quality standards.
• Maintain measuring equipment in his area to ensure that International standards are adhered to.
• Assist, train and supervise Trainees, Junior Technicians and new employees (skills, attitudes, behavior, and computer knowledge) to develop a strong team of metrology technicians who will provide a world-class measuring service.
• Prepare and supply measurement and SPC data for Management decisions.
• Dimensional calibration of Company fixture, gauges, measuring and torque testing instrument and maintain its history to guarantee its accuracy throughout its entire service life.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience within the automotive environment.
• At least 2 years working experience with parts, assemblies alignment, set-up and Dimensional Evaluation.
• National Diploma/ NN Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Trade Test Certificate Tool Maker.
• Good knowledge & understanding of Metrology Symbols & Elements (VIM).
• Practical working experience of Dimensional Measuring Equipment & Instruments.
• 3D interpretation of CAD models and technical drawings.

Qualifications

National Diploma/ NN Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
