About the Role
The purpose of the Quality Technician role is to develop, define and plan suitable measures to meet customer requirements in respect of quality through prevention of problems and continuous improvement of product and service within an acceptable timeframe.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, introduce, monitor and maintain measuring systems to provide a quality and proactive service as measured against national and international standards.
- Analyse, initiate, co-ordinate and implement corrective action to qualify discrepancies reported to the department to ensure a timeous and efficient service to customers within the parameters of acceptable quality standards.
- Maintain measuring equipment in his area to ensure that International and Company Konzern standards are adhered to.
- Assist, train and supervise Trainees, Junior Technicians and new employees (skills, attitudes, behaviour, and computer knowledge) to develop a strong team of metrology technicians who will provide a world class measuring service.
- Prepare and supply measurement and SPC data for Management decisions and Konzern evaluation.
- Dimensional calibration of Company fixture, gauges, measuring and torque testing instrument and maintain its history to guarantee its accuracy throughout its entire service life.
