About the Role

Our client, a well-established debt counselling group of companies, is seeking a mature and experienced Bookkeeper to manage the financial functions of several entities, including a trust and a debt collection company. Because the organisations operations and client interactions are conducted in Afrikaans, full professional proficiency in Afrikaans is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Bookkeeping: Complete full bookkeeping functions up to Trial Balance for multiple entities, Manage invoicing, debtors, creditors, cash books, and payments
  • Process monthly payments to clients from trust account funds, Capture transactions on AJS Flow and AJS Hosted systems, Prepare and send monthly client invoices
  • Compliance & Administration: Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns, Complete annual Workmans Compensation submissions, Assist with the SETA submission, Handle CIPC Annual Returns and Beneficial Ownership declarations

Requirements

  • Mature, steady, and reliable
  • Comfortable working in an office-based, structured environment
  • Strong communicator, especially in Afrikaans
  • Able to manage multiple entities and deadlines with accuracy
  • Minimum of Matric / Grade 12
  • Proven bookkeeping experience up to Trial Balance
  • Proficiency in Sage Pastel Express (experience with AJS systems is advantageous)
