About the Role
The Data Steward role is a critical component of our organization’s data management strategy, responsible for implementing and maintaining data governance processes to maximize value and ensure data integrity. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a critical data asset, providing governance oversight, and aligning data to business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide input into the definition of data processes and standards.
- Embed data policies, standards, tools, and best practices within the data domain of responsibility.
- Evaluate existing information management landscape and produce report for areas of improvement.
- Attend relevant information management working groups and implement requirements accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with internal policy, regulatory requirements, and data practice standards.
- Interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Develop data service level agreements (SLAs).
- Document business term definitions.
- Create and maintain reference data and master data definitions.
- Maintain metadata, data quality rules, Enterprise Data Model (EDM), reference data and records register, where applicable.
- Publish relevant metadata and monitor usage, relevance, and quality feedback.
- Respond to and co-ordinate resolution of data quality issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Assess access requests and monitor user access and usage of owned data sets.
- Define and obtain sign off on information management measurements and provide input into metrics.
- Provide accurate and reliable reporting, analyze trends, and support business decisions in line with compliance and governance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science or related field.
- 4–5 years of experience in Data Governance/Information Management.
