About the Role
A well-established national road freight and logistics company is seeking an experienced and results-driven Branch Manager to lead and manage its Port Elizabeth operations. This senior operational leadership role is suited to a candidate with strong road freight experience, proven people-management capability, and a hands-on approach to operational excellence, compliance, and client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day branch operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and on-time service delivery.
- Plan, coordinate, and optimise the use of vehicles, staff, and operational resources.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and operational procedures to ensure compliance and minimise risk.
- Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, motivate, train, and develop a high-performing branch team.
- Create a positive, accountable, and performance-driven work culture.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage discipline, coaching, and development.
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and ensure high service levels.
- Resolve client queries, escalations, and operational issues effectively.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and business growth in collaboration with sales teams.
- Financial & Performance Management
- Manage and control branch budgets and operational costs.
- Monitor branch performance against operational and financial targets.
- Work closely with finance to ensure accurate billing, reporting, and cost control.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (non-negotiable)
- Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Transport, or related field (advantageous)
