About the Role

The Senior Data Technologist is responsible for delivering high-quality analytical and forensic insights to support the organisation’s mandate through the analysis of complex financial, statistical, and visual/spatial data. This role requires a strong technical background in statistics, data mining, and model development, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with business teams to understand project and analytical requirements
  • Guide and supervise database programming for new and existing initiatives
  • Provide regular project updates, support, and performance metrics to management and team members
  • Identify and develop new sources of information through stakeholder and data-provider relationships
  • Design and maintain management tools to support efficient information gathering
  • Aggregate and utilise relevant data streams to support analysis and reporting
  • Plan personal and team work execution to achieve agreed milestones and deliverables
  • Supervise the development of scripts, stored procedures, and functions to support complex analytical processes
  • Test database systems, perform bug fixes, and resolve complex database issues timeously
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance database performance, reliability, and stability
  • Maintain accurate and complete database programming documentation

Requirements

  • University degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Business Information Systems
  • Formal training and strong quantitative skills in statistics, data mining, and model development
  • SAS or SQL Server certification (compulsory)
  • Proficiency in Power BI, from data visualisation to advanced data modelling (advantageous)

About the Role
