About the Role
Telebest is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to support our site in Cape Town on a contract basis for 8 months. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements
- Maintain compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
- Analyse and manage costs to ensure profitability and operational efficiency
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimisation
- Work closely with operational teams to align financial goals with business strategies
- Provide financial insights and reports to senior management and key stakeholders
- Manage internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and compliance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks
- Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity and effective resource allocation
- Manage banking relationships and oversee treasury functions
- Oversee tax planning, filing, and compliance with local and international laws
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and their implications
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in finance (Chartered Accountant) is essential
- 6+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles
- Exceptional leadership skills with ability to manage multiple teams and large groups of people
- Prior experience in the BPO or outsourcing industry is highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills at all levels
- Proficient in financial software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or other enterprise-level systems with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Performance Management skills
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- A clear criminal background check
