About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our team on a 18-month contract basis in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with international and industry standards in a regional setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate building project sites on a regional basis
- Develop Fall Protection Plans and obtain HIRA certification (advantageous)
- Conduct risk assessments, implement corrective actions, and ensure HSE compliance
- Provide employee and sub-contractor training to ensure PPE standards are met
- Prepare safety files, manage documents, report incidents, and prepare for emergency situations
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders in English and Afrikaans
Requirements
- Completed SAMTRAC or Diploma in Safety Management
- 5+ years of experience coordinating building project sites on a regional basis
- CHSO/SACPCMP registration essential
- Proven track record in risk assessments, corrective action implementation, and HSE compliance
- Hands-on health and safety experience in the building sector (multi-storey projects)
- Effective communication skills in English and Afrikaans
