The Junior Accountant role at Route Management involves providing support to the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial data, and maintaining effective internal procedures. As a junior accountant, you will be responsible for handling various accounting functions, analyzing financial data, and implementing systems and policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out all functions and duties as outlined in this document and any other reasonable and lawful tasks assigned to you.
• Primary focus on the handling, preparing, computing, managing, researching, and analyzing all accounting data to provide quantitative information on performance, financial position, solvency, liquidity, and cash flows of our business.
• Ensure accurate and effective yearly budgeting by anticipating income and expenditure.
• Check depot operations to ensure timely and correct invoicing of job packs, following internal procedures.
• Analyze trial balances weekly to ensure authorized expenditure is within budget and make necessary corrections.
• Investigate open sales orders and manuals to determine reasons for discrepancies.
• Confirm credit notes with relevant documentation.
• Ensure daily labor postings are made.
• Verify order numbers for all open jobs at workshops on the WIP valuation report.
• Invoicing completed jobs as soon as they are finished.
• Conduct scheduled stock takes, following correct procedures.
• Maintain effective store operations by ensuring correct procedures when receiving and issuing stock.
• Investigate store variances and address them with responsible employees.
• Manage minimum and maximum stock levels accordingly.
• Investigate slow-moving stock for write-off, movement, or return.
• Implement systems, policies, and procedures, providing an independent and objective view on primary focus areas.
• Engage in continuous knowledge development related to sector rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.

Requirements

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Computer knowledge (Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office)
• Drivers license
• Willingness to travel
• Good communication skills and bilingual proficiency
• Ability to work under pressure
