About the Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Butchery Manager to join our team at Carlswald Super Spar in Midrand, Gauteng. As a key member of our retail team, you will be passionate about food, butchery, and customer service. You will oversee all aspects of the butchery department, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of staff, including training, and scheduling and disciplining
- Create and implement butchery department policies and procedures
- Maintain high levels of food safety and sanitation standards
- Monitor inventory and order supplies/stock as needed, also monitor and manage waste
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve any customer complaints or issues in a timely manner
- Ensure that all products are of high quality and meet company standards
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate sales and promotions
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices
Requirements
- 3 years of experience working in a butchery, with at least 1 year in a managerial role
- Extensive knowledge of butchery processes, cuts of meat, and food safety standards
- Strong leadership and communication skills, as well as ability to work in a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Customer service-oriented with a passion for food and butchery
