About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering and technical disciplines involved in projects, ensuring accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
- Interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
- Perform overall quality control of work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
- Assign responsibilities and mentor the project team
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
Requirements
- Relevant technical postgraduate qualification
- Postgraduate qualification in Project Management (Good to have)
- 6+ years experience in a Project Management environment
- 6+ years experience in an Operational environment
- Project Engineering
- Construction Management (Advantage)
- Procurement process
- Drawing up Scope of Work documents and technical specifications
- Managing suppliers and fabricators
