About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering and technical aspects of projects, ensuring accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
- Interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
- Assign responsibilities and mentor the project team
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
Requirements
- Relevant technical postgraduate qualification
- Postgraduate qualification in Project Management (Good to have)
- 6+ years experience in a Project Management environment
- 6+ years experience in an Operational environment
- Project Engineering
- Construction Management (Advantage)
- Procurement process
- Drawing up Scope of Work documents and technical specifications
- Managing suppliers and fabricators
