About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all technical, operational and administrative aspects of property maintenance in Durban.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and structural systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, emergencies and guest-related maintenance requests.
  • Supervise staff and ensure quality workmanship.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs and compliance checks.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance activities, costs and asset performance.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Manage stock levels of tools, equipment and consumables.
  • Source, order and track supplies and spare parts.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Supervise maintenance staff and allocate tasks effectively.
  • Provide training and guidance to ensure high standards of work.
  • Schedule shifts and manage overtime requirements.

Requirements

  • Qualified Electrician Trade Test (essential)
  • Proven experience in property or hospitality maintenance management
