About the Role
We are recruiting for an Electrical Engineer (Design and Project Management) to join our dynamic team at Lyon and Partners in Vanderbijlpark, South Africa. The successful incumbent will be responsible for coordinating project elements, ensuring projects remain within budget, and meeting customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Fully develop designs and prepare technical documentation for electrical reticulation systems and building services.
- Oversee projects from inception to close-out, ensuring compliance with ECSA’s prescribed stages and standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies, audits, and other specialised assessments as required.
- Plan, execute, and monitor electrical engineering projects ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Administer contracts in accordance with Condition of Contract frameworks such as FIDIC and JBCC.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements during project execution.
- Use tools like DigSilent PowerFactory, Bentley MicroStation, PowerOffice, PowaMaster, ReticMaster, Relux for drafting, analysis, and design.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and meeting targets.
- Prepare detailed reports, maintain records, and provide progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Identify new opportunities and develop relationships with potential clients.
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and bid documentation to secure new projects.
- Work as part of the team to align business development strategies with organisational goals.
Requirements
- Professional Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng), or Technology or Science Bachelors Degree and Honours (B.Tech Hons, B.Sc. Hons, or B.EngTech Hons)
- Minimum 3 years of post-graduate experience within the Consulting Engineering field.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or a Professional Engineering Technologist preferred.
