About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing structures that meet industry standards and client requirements. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver successful projects, showcasing sound technical judgment and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and design structures, specializing in commercial buildings
- Utilize design software to create structural models, optimize efficiency, and accuracy in design processes
- Assess and analyze loads and pressures induced by environmental factors or human activities, integrating resilience and sustainability into structural designs
- Structural specifications, balancing performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability considerations
- Oversee on-site construction activities, providing guidance and supervision to construction teams
- Monitor project progress closely, tracking milestones and deadlines, and providing comprehensive reports to stakeholders
- Liaison with professional team, facilitating seamless coordination throughout project lifecycles
- Facility Condition Assessments and Structural Assessments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BSc/BEng) or BTech in Structural Engineering
- Professional registration with ECSA is required
- Proficiency in Prokon software for structural analysis and design, coupled with advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Extensive experience of over 5 years in the structural engineering design field
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel

- Formal education/certifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BSc/BEng) or BTech in Structural Engineering; Professional registration with ECSA
