About the Role
Our client, a leading fashion and retail clothing apparel and footwear retailer, is seeking an experienced Store Manager to join their team at the Kenilworth store in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing staff, and ensuring effective store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve set revenues and maintain required margins and KPIs
- Ensure effective store facilities management
- Supervise store employees in areas of loss prevention and customer services
- Provide management advice to staff on problems/store emergencies
- Verify and monitor hours worked by temps on time sheets, control overtime usage, etc.
- Manage expenses to ensure they do not exceed budget (e.g. telephone, stationery, petty cash, purchase orders)
- Oversees stock counts
- Manage all operations programs
- Monitor and order store operating and merchandising suppliers (e.g. signage, tags, stationery)
- Open and close store in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Run daily bank up and oversee daily cash reconciliation and bank deposit procedures
- Communicate promotional event information to maximize results of each event
- Execute staff dress code in the store
- Perform any and all duties normally assigned to subordinate staff to maintain staff coverage
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years retail management experience at a retail chain, brand or similar retailer
- Demonstrable experience in retail management, including coaching and developing people
- Ability to use retail business systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
- Ability to communicate in English
- Knowledge of retail operations, including Sales and Customer Service, Merchandising and promotional techniques, inventory control and loss prevention
