About the Role
Code Red Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join its project team on an immediate basis. The ideal candidate will support the execution of critical infrastructure works within a live heavy-industrial manufacturing environment, with specific involvement in civil works supporting mechanical and structural steel installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for site supervision and execution of civil works on industrial infrastructure projects within an operational manufacturing environment
- Manage and coordinate contractors and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
- Oversee construction activities related to foundations, slabs, equipment bases, and civil-structural interfaces
- Ensure strict compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Coordinate civil works with mechanical and electrical disciplines to ensure accurate sequencing and integration
- Monitor project progress against construction programmes and report deviations to management
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks, and snagging
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance in line with statutory and company requirements
- Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and construction documentation
- Participate in site and project meetings, providing technical input and progress updates
- Proactively identify and resolve construction-related issues to avoid delays or rework
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation for management and audit purposes
- Support commissioning and handover activities where applicable
Requirements
- BSc / BEng / BTech in Civil Engineering
- Registration with ECSA (PrEng / PrTech / registration eligible advantageous)
- 10 years’ experience in civil engineering with a strong emphasis on site supervision
- Proven experience on industrial and heavy commercial projects
- Exposure to heavy industrial environments such as steel manufacturing, metal processing, mining, petrochemical, power generation, or similar operational plants (highly advantageous)
