About the Role
The Online Tutor at SOARing Scholars is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and learner-centred online tutoring sessions to students in Grades 1–12. This role focuses on improving learners’ academic understanding, confidence, and performance through interactive virtual lessons aligned with the CAPS curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, interactive online tutoring sessions via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet
- Support learners in Grades 1–12 across assigned subjects in line with the CAPS and IEB curriculum
- Prepare lesson plans, activities, and revision support tailored to individual learner needs
- Track learner progress and provide constructive academic feedback
- Encourage learner participation, confidence, and independent thinking
- Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate professionally with the academic team
- Adhere to SOARing Scholars’ teaching standards, policies, and schedules
- Create a safe, positive, and structured virtual learning environment
Requirements
- Matric and/or a post-matric qualification
- At least 1 year of online tutoring or teaching experience
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly
- Availability between 15:00 – 21:00 (SAST)
