About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Supervisor / Tax Manager to support the Tax Manager and oversee the daily operations of the tax department in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tax professional looking to take the next step in their career within a structured and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide tax staff on compliance and best practices
- Assist with tax research, complex tax queries, and SARS liaison
- Manage workflow and ensure high-quality, accurate tax outputs
- Handle audits, income tax & provisional tax returns
- Manage objections, appeals, Tax Ombud complaints, and tax exemption applications
- Assist with dispute resolution and follow-up on all tax-related matters
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Accounting Relevant tax qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a tax environment
- Registered Tax Practitioner (or eligible for registration)
- Experience liaising directly with SARS
