About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Junior Restaurant Manager to join our growing hospitality team in Constantia Nek, Cape Town. As a key member of our upmarket restaurant, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding guest experiences and advancing your restaurant management career.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily running of the restaurant, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional guest service.
- Monitor all service areas, coordinate with kitchen and bar teams, and address operational issues during shifts.
- Act as a key contact for staff and guests, maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for efficiency and hospitality.
- Work closely with senior management to deliver high standards, participating in strategy meetings and implementing new procedures.
- Lead and motivate front-of-house staff, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging teamwork.
- Supervise service and oversee the guest journey at every touchpoint, ensuring staff adhere to protocols and presentation standards.
- Manage reservations and ensure efficient table allocation, monitoring booking systems and optimising floor plans.
- Resolve guest queries and handle complaints professionally, listening actively and empathising with guests.
- Support staff training, development, scheduling, and rostering, organising induction sessions and maintaining up-to-date records.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Junior Restaurant Manager role within an upmarket hospitality setting.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Hands-on management approach.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- Basic stock control experience.
- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
