About the Role
The Injection Moulding Machine Setter plays a key operational leadership role in driving process efficiency and ensuring production targets are consistently achieved. This role involves shift work, overtime where required, and after-hours production call-outs when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and optimise all injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment.
- Maximise machine utilisation and labour efficiency to meet production objectives.
- Ensure production output meets customer quality and delivery requirements.
- Monitor and control scrap rates, cycle times, and other key production KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Ensure adherence to Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
- Enforce Health & Safety standards within the production department.
- Coordinate and manage production staff per shift requirements.
- Review non-conforming products with Quality and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within processes and product quality.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4)
- Level 4 Plastic Federation Injection Moulding Machine Setting Certificate (NQF 6)
- Minimum 3 years experience in Injection Moulding Machine (IMM) setting and process optimisation
- Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment
