Dundee: Security Manager

About the Role

The Security Manager will oversee the security operations of our client, ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees, clients, and visitors. This role requires a strong background in security management, excellent interpersonal skills, and experience in managing security staff and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining good relations internal, external and with 3rd party contractor employees
  • Ensuring the rendering of security service deliver in line with SOPs
  • Ensuring compliance and that all security officers meet contractual requirements as stipulated by the organization
  • Identification and mitigation of risks
  • Constantly evaluating the service levels provided and making recommendations to the client regarding the improvement of services
  • General management and supervision of security staff and operations, including rosters and posting of staff
  • Ensuring that all HR related queries are dealt with promptly
  • Investigating incidents and investigations
  • Attend meetings internal, external and with 3rd party contractor employees
  • Compile weekly, monthly and annual site incident reports
  • Control budget for security operations and monitor expenses
  • Stores, stock and asset audits to verify stock and minimise theft
  • Security service providers invoicing verification
  • Rental machine hours verification
  • Security infrastructure review and maintenance
  • Fulfil security operational expectations

Requirements

  • National diploma in security management (advantageous)
  • Grade 12
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar position in mining
  • SAPS/Military experience (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with all legislation relating to the position
  • Investigating experience
  • Firearm Police competency – Handgun/Shotgun
  • Handgun & Shotgun Business Purpose
  • Familiarity with MHSA and the control thereof
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
  • Good interpersonal skills in order to liaise with client, community, SAPS and outside stakeholders
  • Experience in crowd/strike control (advantageous)
  • PSIRA B grade or higher – Up to date PSIRA affiliating
  • Experience using relevant technology and equipment (CCTV)
