About the Role
The Senior Logistics and Asset Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of logistics and asset management across multiple offices and fulfilment centres in Stellenbosch. This role requires a highly experienced professional with expertise in logistics, shipping, inventory management, customs compliance, and asset tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee domestic and international shipments to ensure cost-effectiveness, reliability, and compliance.
- Select and coordinate transport solutions for courier, airfreight, sea freight, and road freight shipments, including hazardous goods shipments with lithium batteries.
- Monitor shipments end-to-end, resolve delays, customs holds, and transport issues proactively.
- Coordinate temporary exports, demonstrations, repairs, inter-company transfers, and returns logistics.
- Verify correct Incoterms and shipping instructions prior to dispatch.
- Maintain accurate stock levels across offices and fulfilment centres, compiling, reconciling, and reporting weekly stock levels.
- Manage demo, loan, replacement, service, and written-off stock, performing periodic stock takes and investigating discrepancies.
- Perform traceability of serialised equipment through its lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with international trade and transport regulations (IATA/IMDG/WEEE) and export control requirements.
- Coordinate regulatory permits/licences and supporting legal documentation.
- Maintain audit-ready records and support inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Verify correct tariff classifications (HS Codes) and export declarations.
- Stay current with destination-country import requirements, restrictions, and compliance obligations.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or inventory management
- Driver’s licence and own/reliable transport
- Fluent English (spoken/written) and Afrikaans for internal communication
Qualifications
- Logistics-related certifications advantageous
