About the Role

SGT Electrical is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team on urgent road lighting projects in Gauteng. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and timely delivery of works in accordance with SANRAL standards, approved designs, and FIDIC Conditions of Contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate road lighting construction works, including poles, luminaires, cabling, and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with SANRAL specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective measures where delays occur.
  • Enforce compliance with the OHS Act, project HSE plans, and traffic accommodation requirements.
  • Oversee quality control, inspections, testing, and close-out of NCRs.
  • Verify contractor performance, claims, variations, and KPIs.
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants, and authorities during construction.
  • Chair site meetings and submit progress, safety, and compliance reports.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist.
  • 5+ years experience on SANRAL or similar road infrastructure projects.
  • SACPCMP as Construction Manager.
  • Proven experience in road lighting, electrical infrastructure, or highway works.
  • Working knowledge of FIDIC contracts, SANRAL standards, and CIDB Requirements.
