About the Role
The Deputy Director of IT Audits Internal Audit position at Nelson Mandela University is a critical role that requires strategic leadership and technical expertise to manage the university’s IT audit portfolio. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of the internal audit strategy, lead digitalisation plans, and ensure effective management of IT audit resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of and manage a risk-based audit plan, budget, performance, and quality management of IT audits.
- Manage the IT audit portfolio which covers assurance and advisory services on ICT governance, infrastructure, operations, projects, and automated business systems that support all university campuses, portfolios, entities, and processes.
- Ensure effective management of IT audit resources and inculcate a high team performance culture.
- Contribute to the development of IA strategic and operational plans.
- Lead IA digitalisation plan.
- Lead IA maturity on data analytics.
- Lead and monitor the implementation of audit plans.
- Provide strategic and operational advice to management.
- Lead and manage assurance and advisory project engagements.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and manage them effectively.
Requirements
- A post-graduate degree in Internal Auditing, Information Technology, or a related field or Certified Information Systems Auditor.
- Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors or Information Systems Audit and Control Association.
- A minimum of 7 years IT Auditing experience, of which a minimum of 3 years must be on a supervisory/managerial level.
- Knowledge of audit management and data analytics tools.
