Job Description: Lead and manage mechanical design activities, including the creation and review of 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials Manage engineering data within CAD and PDM/PLM systems, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with standards Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure successful project delivery Lead design reviews and ensure designs meet customer specifications, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing requirements Support product development from concept through to production, ensuring timelines, milestones, and technical objectives are achieved Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers while identifying opportunities for design improvement and optimisation Skills & Experience: Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive or commercial vehicle industry Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing design projects in a fast-paced environment Advanced CAD experience, with strong knowledge of engineering data management systems toggle (PDM/PLM) Strong computer literacy, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills and digital engineering tools Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with customers and stakeholders Qualification: Matric BEng, BSc, or BTech degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
