About the Role
Lesedi Nuclear Services is seeking a highly skilled Process Design Engineer/Technologist to join our team in Cape Town. As a specialist input provider and support specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring professional and compliant designs are produced on time, within budget, and to specifications for multi-disciplinary Green-fields and Brownfields projects within the Power Generation / Oil & Gas Industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Process Engineering outputs in accordance with Lesedi Engineering procedures, guidelines, and standards within the Power Generation / Oil & Gas Industry for large scale Greenfields and Brownfields projects.
- Ensure Process designs are delivered on time and within budget.
- Act as Technical Proposal/Tender Lead (as appointed by the Process Head of Discipline) and develop User Requirements Specifications (URS) and Operational Requirements Specifications (ORS) with clients.
- Conduct concept development and feasibility checks, compile technical specifications and enquiry packages, and review technical outputs from other Process Engineers and adjudicate supplier offers.
- Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and estimate engineering effort for EPC and EPCM projects.
- Provide input to project schedules and document assumptions and URS deviations.
- Prepare technical write-ups and identify technical and commercial risks.
- Design and participate in design reviews, including Mass and Energy Balances, Process Simulations, Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Configuration selection and optimization, Techno-Economic Trade-off Studies, and Hazardous Area Classification Studies.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the Engineering Design Life Cycle within EPC / EPCM Projects
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Knowledge of the OHS Act and its Regulations
- Knowledge of ISO quality systems principles
- Technical competence within the applicable knowledge area (Process Design)
- Good understanding of the relevant industries (Power Generation, Oil & Gas)
Qualifications
- B.Sc / B.Eng / B.Tech in Process / Chemical Engineering or Equivalent
