About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Executive Chef to join a prestigious Luxury Lodge in the Greater Kruger. This live-in role is ideal for a culinary professional with strong leadership skills, creativity, and the ability to set up and manage a brand-new kitchen from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the setup and establishment of a new kitchen, including layout, equipment, and operational systems
- Oversee all culinary operations, ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, and presentation
- Design and implement innovative menus using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
- Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
- Manage kitchen budgets, stock control, and supplier relationships
- Deliver outstanding dining experiences for lodge guests, including à la carte, buffet, and special events
Requirements
Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in luxury hospitality environments
Demonstrated ability to set up and manage a new kitchen
Formal culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Creative flair with a passion for delivering world-class cuisine
Ability to work under pressure in a high-end, remote lodge environment

- Formal culinary qualification (e.g. Baking & Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts)
Salary & Benefits
Package: R30,000 per month (Negotiable DOE)
