Job Description

is assisting a small Boutique luxury island resort in the Maldives in sourcing a hands-on culinary leader with strong operational experience as This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on culinary leader to take full ownership of a boutique island kitchen in one of the world’s most unique remote destinations. The role calls for an experienced professional who can combine creativity with operational discipline delivering elevated yet approachable cuisine while managing kitchen systems, procurement logistics, and a small multicultural team. The successful candidate will drive menu innovation, maintain exceptional culinary standards, and ensure smooth, efficient kitchen operations within the realities of island supply chains and sustainability-focused hospitality. The position requires a chef who thrives in remote settings and enjoys the challenge of balancing creativity with logistical planning. Full oversight of kitchen operations across all meal services and events Menu development, recipe standardisation, and food costing Procurement planning, supplier liaison, and stock management Implement and maintain HACCP and food safety systems Train, mentor, and lead a small multicultural kitchen team Manage staff meals and kitchen budgets effectively Maintain high hygiene standards, SOPs, and operational systems Proven Snr Sous or Head Chef experience in boutique hotels, island resorts, or remote hospitality environments Strong financial acumen with experience managing GP%, costing, and stock control Structured, solutions-driven approach to kitchen management Calm, adaptable, and comfortable working in remote locations Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development capability ➡️A food portfolio must be submitted with your application that clearly displays your creativity, innovation and attention to detail.
