About the Role
As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our hotel’s housekeeping department, ensuring that all service standards are met, and providing exceptional guest experiences. You will work closely with your manager to achieve departmental goals and objectives, while also being proactive in identifying areas for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and administer time and attendance policy
- Ensure staff accountability and compliance with departmental goals
- Execute operational projects and coordination of activities
- Evaluate staff performance to ensure effective and efficient operation of daily functions
- Provide assistance and support to your manager on and off duty
- Determine customer needs and ensure operational delivery of specific requests
- Continuously improve service offerings in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, and competitiveness
- Advise on resolving logistical and/or customer-related problems
- Generate departmental reports, monitor workload, productivity, and customer satisfaction
- Participate in training sessions, instructions, and people’s skills development
- Work after hours as required
- Ensure all service equipment is operational and handled safely, reporting mechanical issues to appropriate team members
- Oversees the scheduling, duties, and on-the-job training of staff if needed
Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Diploma or certificate in hospitality management or related fields (advantageous)
- At least 2 years of luxury lodge or hotel housekeeping experience
- Proven ability to supervise and manage a team of housekeeping staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff and guests effectively
- Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues related to housekeeping services
