About the Role
Our client, a leading industrial and manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled Millwright to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure smooth and efficient production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular servicing and preventive maintenance of machinery and production equipment
- Diagnose and repair machine breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on company vehicles, including trucks and forklifts
- Perform basic electrical work related to machinery and equipment as required
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for troubleshooting and repairs
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and service schedules
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely
Requirements
- Matric
- Red Seal Millwright Trade Certification (essential)
- Minimum 23 years practical experience in maintenance, installation, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment
- Valid drivers license (Code B or higher, depending on site requirements)
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Knowledge of safety regulations, workshop procedures, and quality standards
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems efficiently
- Strong physical fitness and ability to work in industrial environments
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle OR reliable transport
