About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. As a Centurion, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial records, as well as providing expert guidance to junior finance team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
  • Financial reporting and detailed variance analysis
  • Overseeing general ledger and ensuring accuracy of financial records
  • Managing balance sheet, bank, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Ensuring compliance with IFRS and statutory requirements
  • Managing audit processes and liaising with external auditors
  • Handling VAT, tax submissions, and SARS compliance
  • Improving and implementing financial controls and processes
  • Mentoring and supporting junior finance team members

Requirements

  • Education: BCom Accounting or related qualification
  • Completed articles (SAIPA / SAICA preferred)
  • Experience: 4-7 years relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation
  • Proven experience in financial reporting and audits

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team as a Centurion, responsible for providing financial leadership and expertise to drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • End to end bookkeeping and financial processing
  • Cashbook management and reconciliations
  • General ledger maintenance and trial balance reviews
  • Cash flow planning and reporting
  • Budgeting support and financial control oversight
  • Managing subcontractor accounts and payment processes
  • Training and supervising junior finance staff
  • Ensuring that internal controls are applied, monitored, and maintained

Requirements

  • Completed BCom degree
  • Minimum 3 years relevant accounting experience
  • Construction industry exposure highly preferred
  • BuildSmart experience is a must
  • Strong Excel capability
  • Solid bookkeeping foundation with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of responsibilities
