About the Role
Our client, a leading company in the construction industry, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Midrand. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in residential property and possess strong technical skills in quantity surveying.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and analyse tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met within budgetary constraints.
- Utilize construction costing software such as Candy or any other CCS to accurately manage project costs.
- Utilize QTO or Cost X software for quantity take-off and cost estimation.
- Generate detailed reports on project progress, cost variations, and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Provide expert advice on cost-saving measures and value engineering initiatives.
- Conduct site visits and assessments as required to monitor progress and resolve cost-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BTech) in Quantity Surveying.
- Preferably, experience in the Residential Property Industry.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying within the Building & Construction industry.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using construction costing software such as Candy or any other CCS.
- Proficiency in QTO or Cost X software for quantity takeoff and cost estimation.
