About the Role
The Facilities Manager position at HotelJobs is a critical role that ensures the smooth operation of our Hotels, Restaurants, and Conference Centre. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for implementing and managing maintenance best practices to minimize downtime and optimize resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee, manage and maintain all areas relating to maintenance, ensuring effective Hotels, Restaurants and Conference Centre operational requirements
- Plan, supervise, and conduct maintenance schedules for equipment
- Work closely with the relevant Hotel Manager, Operational Manager and Heads of Departments to ensure all maintenance requests are resolved in a timely fashion, with excellent record-keeping and efficient feedback
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices
- Ensure the secure and safe usage of all equipment items
- Manage, train, guide and develop the staff in their required skills
- Prepare annual Maintenance budgets, including any purchasing for machinery or other CAPEX items, maintaining existing materials and machinery, and labour
- Distribute preventive maintenance and repair work orders and monitor timeliness and quality of completion
- Ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards
- Develop specifications and requirements for service contracts and administer such contracts to support building needs
- Build positive relationships with external customers such as city building/zoning department, fire prevention bureau and vendors
- Obtain best price quotes from reliable suppliers and build a base of approved service providers
- Plan and oversee renovation, construction, or refurbishment projects
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Develop initiatives to reduce energy consumption and enhance the sustainability of the facilities
- Monitor and analyse utility usage and implement cost-saving measures
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Facilities, Maintenance, Engineering or related field
- Experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous
- Excellent knowledge of maintenance procedures and hygiene standards
- Experience leading and developing a maintenance team
- Proficient in the use of MS Office
- Experience with CAPEX & Operational budgeting
- Experience with preventative maintenance planning and execution
- Valid Drivers license
- Knowledge of HVAC and other building systems
- Great leadership and problem-solving skills
