About the Role
Hire Resolve, a leading client in the Supply Chain industry, is seeking an experienced Third Party Logistics Manager to join our team in Rosebank, Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders and driving strategic initiatives to optimize transportation logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain positive relationships with government departments (e.g., Department of Trade and Industry, Transport), regional distribution/logistics/warehouse managers, vehicle manufacturers/finance houses, business advisors, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Lead Route to Market strategy execution, collaborating with distribution services and warehouse managers.
- Develop and implement transportation plans and procedures.
- Address operational challenges.
- Oversee the transportation logistics control center.
- Monitor performance metrics.
- Manage owner driver budgets and spend.
- Lead governance (RACM) related to owner drivers.
- Manage the owner driver processing team.
- Conduct CAP assessments.
- Analyze distribution/transportation data.
- Develop strategic partnerships.
- Optimize transportation routes.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements.
- Resolve customer issues.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
- Monitor carrier performance.
- Develop a quality management system.
- Oversee owner driver/process/carrier compliance audits.
- Ensure safety and risk processes are followed.
Requirements
A minimum of a B Com degree or related B Degree in Logistics, Transport, Business Management or Finance.
A minimum of 5 to 8 years logistics experience, and owner driver management would be an added advantage.
