Job Description
- Operate walk-behind or ride-on road rollers to compact soil, gravel, asphalt, or other materials on construction sites.
- Perform start-up checks, monitor gauges, adjust settings, and ensure proper vibration/compaction levels during operation.
- Conduct efficient start-up, change-over, and shutdown procedures
- Follow correct compaction techniques and ensure uniform compaction throughout assigned
- Inspect the work area before and after rolling to ensure compliance with required
- Identify and report any inconsistencies, uneven surfaces, or areas requiring rework.
- Follow all site safety protocols, equipment safety guidelines, and PPE
- Maintain awareness of personnel, obstacles, and machinery in the surrounding environment while operating the roller.
- Report safety hazards, near-misses, and mechanical faults immediately.
- Complete equipment checklists, daily logs, and compaction reports accurately.
Requirements
- Education- Grade 10
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience operating a Rolling Machine
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
