Field Guide | Luxury Lodge Group | Thabazimbi, South Africa Salary: Negotiable depending on experience Location: Thabazimbi Position Type: Full-time Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Field Guide for a luxury hotel and lodge group based in the stunning wilderness of Thabazimbi. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate guide who is committed to delivering exceptional safari experiences, both on foot and by vehicle, while contributing to the operational and mentorship functions within the guiding team. Key Responsibilities: Guide guests on game drives and bush walks, ensuring a holistic and memorable safari experience Uphold all standards and protocols as per FGASA and company guiding culture Assist Safari Management with the operational and administrative duties of the department Support and mentor junior field guides in line with the companys leadership culture Ensure all safari equipment, vehicles, and assets are maintained and operated correctly Conduct guest safety orientations and introductory briefings Track wildlife and interpret the bush, delivering ecological information with enthusiasm Assist in managing emergencies such as medical situations, fire, or flooding Collect and communicate guest preferences to the management team Represent the lodge brand positively across social media platforms by contributing content and wildlife updates Address and report any guest complaints immediately to management Minimum Requirements: FGASA Level 2 Nature Site Guide (NQF4) Trails Guide qualification ARH (Advanced Rifle Handling) and Rifle Proficiency Valid First Aid Level 1 Valid Drivers License and PrDP Prior experience as a Field Guide at a luxury lodge Key Skills and Attributes: Strong knowledge of guiding standards and operational procedures High attention to detail and a strong commitment to hygiene and presentation Passionate about wildlife and conservation, with a guest-centric philosophy Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Calm and professional demeanor under pressure Creative thinking and problem-solving skills Willingness to be flexible, adaptable, and committed to the lodge values Cultural Fit: Embodies the company values and brand experience Maintains professionalism and integrity in all interactions Works effectively under pressure with excellent time management Open to feedback and continuously seeks personal and professional growth Displays patience, care, and exceptional people skills This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Field Guide to join a world-class team in one of South Africas prime safari locations.
