About the Role
We are partnering with an internationally hospitality group to appoint a seasoned and experienced French-speaking Director of Finance for the pre-opening of an internationally branded hotel in Benin. This is a key Executive Committee appointment requiring a finance professional who combines strategic perspective with disciplined operational control.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the hotel’s full financial function, ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance, structured reporting, and commercial accountability from pre-opening through to stabilised operations.
- Work closely with the General Manager, ownership representatives, and regional leadership to oversee pre-opening financial planning, capital expenditure management, implementation of systems and controls, and alignment with international brand standards while ensuring compliance with local legislation.
- Make sound judgements, demonstrate cultural awareness, and operate effectively within a Francophone West African market.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years senior finance leadership experience within internationally branded hotels
- Proven involvement in at least one hotel pre-opening project
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field essential
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent strongly preferred
- Fluency in both French and English is non-negotiable
