Job Description
The Short-Term Insurance Advisor will be responsible for assessing clients’ insurance needs and providing appropriate cover across motor, home, business, and liability products. The role involves managing an existing portfolio of clients, delivering competitive quotations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will provide clear guidance on policy terms and maintain accurate documentation at all times. This position also includes generating new business opportunities to grow the client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess clients’ insurance needs and risk exposure
- Recommend suitable short-term insurance solutions
- Provide accurate quotations and policy comparisons
- Explain policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and premiums clearly
- Close new business opportunities
- Retain and service an existing book of clients
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant
- Maintain up-to-date and organised client records
- Adhere to FAIS and relevant regulatory requirements
- Apply Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles consistently
- Maintain required CPD hours
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Generate leads through networking and referrals
- Provide ongoing policy reviews and advice
Requirements:
- RE5 certification
- Class of Business (Personal Lines and Commercial Lines)
- Relevant insurance qualification
- 2–5 years’ experience in short-term insurance
- Proven experience managing and growing a client portfolio
Remuneration:
Basic salary of R25 000 – R35 000 per month
(Neg on Experience)
Maintain Current Book
Commission on New Clients
