Job Summary
Job Summary:
The Senior Cylinder and Hydraulics Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of hydraulic systems and components in heavy earthmoving equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of hydraulic systems, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues efficiently.

Responsibilities:
- Inspect and Diagnose: Identify faults in hydraulic systems and equipment, including cylinders, pumps, motors, and valves.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform regular maintenance and repairs on hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Component Replacement: Replace or repair faulty hydraulic components, including seals, hoses, and fittings.
- Testing and Calibration: Conduct performance tests and calibrate hydraulic systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret hydraulic system design plans, blueprints, and schematics.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and protocols while performing all tasks.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Work Area Management: Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding repair and maintenance procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in hydraulics or mechanical engineering is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in hydraulic system maintenance and repair, preferably in the heavy earthmoving equipment industry.
- Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Physical
Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy components and work in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling.
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments and under varying weather conditions.
