Job Summary
REQUIREMENTS
- Affirmative Action South African Citizens preferred
- National Diploma/ Degree Mechanical/ Electrical/ Mechatronics
- Minimum of 5 years of Metrology measuring experience (Tactile or Optical)
- Minimum of 5 years measuring software experience (PC-Dmis, GOM, Polyworks)
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Offline and teach programming experience of CMM facilities
- Advanced computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of CAD software (Catia preferable)
- Working understanding of CMM maintenance and TPM
- Interpretation of technical drawings
- Design and building of measuring fixtures
- Sound understanding of the vehicle manufacturing process (press shop, body shop, assembly, purchase parts manufacturing)
- Problem-solving/ analytical thinking capability
- Planning and prioritization skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct dimensional measurements of vehicle components to ensure conformity to drawing and dimensional specification
- Provide detailed dimensional analysis to aid part approval and correction to desired CAD/ drawing level
- Conduct dimensional measurements of vehicle components to ensure conformity to drawing specifications
- Conduct detailed measurements and analysis to aid the part approval process of internal and external supplier parts
- Provide dimensional analysis and problem-solving ability to successfully resolve production concerns and improve the overall product quality
- Conduct dimensional approval of vehicle components to ensure the successful release of components at the correct quality levels at relevant PEP milestones
- Provide support to the external supplier base to ensure correct dimensional Metrology methods and principles are applied to ISO/ VDA requirements
