Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations Management:
Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring all activities are performed in accordance with company goals and targets. Oversee picking, packing, scanning, dispatch, loading, and delivery, ensuring all processes run efficiently and on time. - Inventory & Stock Control:
Manage the storage and handling of stock, ensuring accurate inventory levels at all times. Oversee weekly and annual stocktakes, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions. Maintain a comprehensive record of stock levels and assist in the implementation of best practices for inventory management. - Fleet & Vehicle Maintenance:
Ensure the fleet is maintained to the highest standards, conducting regular vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Work closely with the team to ensure the timely delivery of goods and monitor vehicle performance to avoid any disruptions in service. - Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, train, and mentor a team of warehouse staff. Conduct performance appraisals and identify opportunities for professional development. Allocate tasks effectively and ensure the team is motivated and productive. - Customer Relations & Problem Solving:
Address customer inquiries, complaints, and compliments, ensuring high levels of satisfaction. Handle any delivery or operational issues promptly and professionally, working to resolve problems in a way that strengthens customer relationships. - Health & Safety Compliance:
Coordinate all health and safety activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions to ensure a safe working environment for all staff. - Cost Management & Optimization:
Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement strategies to reduce expenses without compromising on quality. Support the Operations Manager in preparing and managing the budget to ensure financial targets are met. - Reporting & Performance Metrics:
Provide regular productivity reports, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the efficiency and effectiveness of warehouse operations. Take corrective actions when necessary to ensure targets are consistently met.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Grade 12
- A Logistics Diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in invoicing and order processing systems.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing a team and ensuring optimal performance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to address issues and provide clear instructions.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, stock control, and supply chain processes.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
