About the Role

Our client, a well-established agricultural operation within the citrus industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Farm Manager (Citrus) to oversee farming operations within the Addo area. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of farmers and ensuring the day-to-day operations of the farm run efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage farming activities such as fertilizer programs, spray programs, prune programs, new planting, and harvesting plans.
  • Liaise with farm managers to obtain information, consolidate data, and link with Supply Chain to convey information for planning purposes.
  • Continuously update information as estimation changes.
  • Ensure day-to-day farm activities and costs stay within the approved budget.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of processes and day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience at a middle management/farm manager level in the citrus industry.
  • Must be innovative and detail-oriented.
  • Capable of managing multiple and high-priority tasks.
  • Ability to provide effective supervision and staff management.
  • Ability to manage projects effectively and meet firm deadlines.
  • Computer literate.

Qualifications

  • Agricultural degree/diploma is highly advantageous but not a requirement.
  • Relevant certifications or training in farming or agriculture (if applicable).
