Job Description
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks in compliance with company standards.
- Prepare detailed fabrication, assembly, and layout drawings from engineering concepts, sketches, and prototypes.
- Assist with design modifications, revisions, and updates based on engineering feedback and production requirements.
- Perform tolerance analysis and ensure drawings meet ISO/GD&T standards.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, production teams, and quality control to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Maintain accurate drawing registers and version control of all design documents.
- Support R&D and new product development projects by creating concept designs and updating design files.
- Conduct BOM (Bill of Materials) creation and updates aligned with ERP systems.
- Assist in preparing documentation for client submissions, including technical files and assembly manuals.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant mining equipment safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements:
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Draughtsman, preferably in heavy engineering or mining equipment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (Part Modelling, Assemblies, Drawings, Sheet Metal, Weldments, and Simulation).
- Experience in creating fabrication and machining drawings to tight tolerances.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
