About the Role
Spanish-inspired Restaurant in Alberton is seeking an experienced Stock Controller / Kitchen Manager to join their team. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and managing our stock levels. You have a passion for cooking and food preparation, combined with excellent leadership skills and experience in inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
- Ensure food quality and safety, adhering to food safety standards.
- Manage the kitchen’s budget, controlling costs, and meeting targets.
- Manage and control inventory, including ordering, receiving, and issuing stock.
- Inspire and develop kitchen staff to achieve excellence.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Health & Hygiene certifications
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position
- Experience in cooking, food preparation, and understanding of various cuisines.
- Strong understanding of food storage, ordering, and cost control.
- Ability to supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Ability to organize the kitchen, manage schedules, and maintain cleanliness.
- Effective communication with staff, customers, and suppliers.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and systems.
