About the Role
FROGG Recruitment is seeking a seasoned Credit Risk Manager to join our client’s team in Bellville, Cape Town. As a key member of the risk management team, you will be responsible for managing and strengthening credit risk frameworks, underwriting standards, and portfolio performance for retail and corporate portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enforce credit policies, underwriting standards, and limit structures across retail and corporate portfolios
- Design, validate, and refine credit scoring models, decision rules, and risk segmentation methodologies (including model performance monitoring)
- Monitor portfolio performance, early warning indicators, arrears trends, and provisioning requirements in line with IFRS 9/expected credit loss frameworks
- Approve credit exposures within delegated mandates and escalate higher-risk or breaches to senior management/committees
Requirements
- 58 years relevant credit risk experience in banking, financial services, or lending environments
- Proven knowledge and hands-on experience with IFRS 9 / expected credit loss provisioning and credit risk modelling
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or similar; postgraduate qualification (Honours/MCom/MBA) or professional qualifications advantageous
