Bethal: Mechanic assistant posted by WMS Secure

We are looking for an Assistant Mechanic to join our team in Bethal Mpumalanga. The person will be responsible for providing technical and operational support in the maintenance, servicing, and repair of motor vehicles. The position assists senior mechanics in conducting routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure all vehicles remain safe, reliable, and compliant with transport regulations.

Main responsibilities

Performing planned weekly inspections of vehicles on site
Collecting vehicle mileage information
Arrange quotes for vehicle related maintenance items (tyres and windscreens etc.)
Maintenance and servicing of vehicles
Assist the Senior Mechanic to execute maintenance tasks as required
Collection of spares from suppliers
Assisting with ad-hoc duties

Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 (matric)
Apprentice mechanic working towards trade
Drivers License, minimum Code 10
Ability to work overtime as and when required
High levels of energy and ability to take initiative
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent communication and decision-making skills
