To ensure your application is complete, you must submit ALL documents listed under the inherent requirements, as well as the following standard documentation: A detailed Curriculum Vitae. Copies of your qualifications, or official proof of qualifications obtained (If you hold foreign qualifications, please include SAQA accreditation). A copy of your identity document (South African ID or passport for foreign nationals). Confirmation of employment in the form of a letter, appointment contract, service certificate, or recent payslip from your current or most recent employer (applicable to external applicants only). Duties and responsibilities: Orientate students both in the skills laboratory and clinical facilities. Facilitate clinical teaching and learning as well as assessments of students in the clinical learning environment. Accompany students in the clinical facility for continuous supervision and support. Participate in an ongoing evaluation of clinical learning experiences. Monitor students’ clinical movements and keep necessary records. Maintain a portfolio of evidence of own work and submit regularly as stipulated. Perform other clinical duties assigned. Participate in assessment competence and remedial support of students. Provide constructive feedback and coaching of students. Apply effective communication, interpersonal and conflict management skills to foster collaboration among students, clinical staff, and patients. Mediate between the UFS School of Nursing and Clinical Practice. Inherent requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing on NQF Level 8 or equivalent (attach a copy). Registration with the South Africa Nursing Council as a professional nurse (General, Psychiatry, Community) and Midwife (attach a copy). Additional qualification in Primary Care Nursing (attach a copy). Additional qualification in Nursing Education (attach a copy). A valid driver’s license (attach a copy). Recommendations: Masters in Nursing on NQF level 9 (attach a copy). Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an assessor and/or moderator (attach a copy). Required competencies: Results orientated: o The ability to set high standards, establish tough goals, and to work to achieve success. o The ability to stick with tasks, not give up, and overcome obstacles in completing ones task. Strategic thinking: o The ability to focus on details, work towards perfection, and approach work in a neat and organized manner. o The ability to plan work and to follow plans. Business acumen: o The ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations. o Proficient in using MS Office. Leading: o The ability to lead, take charge of situations, and offer opinions and directions to others. o The ability to be cooperative with others, display good-natured attitude, and encourage people to work together. Building coalitions: o The ability to negotiate, sell, influence and to persuade others. o The ability to make decisions through consultation, collaboration and working with close supervision.
