Key Responsibilities

Core Programme Implementation
Develop and implement comprehensive conservation strategies aligned with the reserves mission and values
Conduct biodiversity assessments and monitor wildlife populations, ecosystem health, and rehabilitation projects
Design and promote awareness campaigns highlighting conservation efforts and eco-friendly practices
Manage, analyse, and present data related to conservation projects for internal and external stakeholders
Supervise, mentor, and train conservation staff to ensure a collaborative and high-performing team
Oversee re-wilding and habituation processes for wildlife across the property
Adapt duties as required based on the lodges size, operational structure, and organisational policies

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree in Wildlife Conservation or a related field
Proven experience in wildlife conservation, game reserve management, breeding, and hunting environments
Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate conservation initiatives
Excellent communication abilities, with confidence in engaging diverse stakeholder groups
Strong knowledge of local flora, fauna, and regional conservation challenges
FGASA qualification is advantageous
Good general maintenance knowledge
Telemetry knowledge and tracking experience are advantageous
Understanding of dangerous game behaviour
Proficiency in analytical and scientifically based wildlife management
